Which is worse? 1) Kicked to the curb, collecting unemployment, defaulting on mortgage/rent, moving back in with Mom/Dad. 2) Survive doing twice the work, stagnant career with no more upward mobility opps, no raises, no 401K match, no more time for prescious coffees, constant threat of more layoffs, and working everyday in the most toxic environments around.

good point, I'm kind of 50/50 at this point. Even if I don't get cut I can't see myself staying another year. So then you'd just quit without getting severance. Right now I have a hard time thinking anyone still at Target after next week will be better off over the long term than those that get cut or already left. I'm not confident Target isn't the next Kmart. Yes Brian talks the talk but the EVP crew that got us here is still here. You think coffee status, feedback, collaboration, HR (policies not the people), making decisions based on BTS feedback cycles, and all of that is REALLY going to change? One of the eye opening things about this board was hearing from those that already left cause they saw how dysfunctional our culture is.
No official word on matches. But it is common for companies to put that on hold or make it discretionary paid out at the end of the year while watching the bottom line. An announcement such as that wouldn't happen until after the carnage of a layoff.
Hold on - where did the 'no 401(k) match' comment come from?
Who is moving in with mom and dad?I would rather live in a homeless shelter.why would you not get a 401k match if you are retained?
