Incorrect. There are several non-engineering roles that are listed that fall under BI with requisitions still active.

Unless additional cuts are made to suppory the new openings. The openings are for engineers only. May mean extra cuts in non-eng roles.

Considering that the only job openings on the site are within Paritoshs team, I don't think the 20% theory was uniform across departments.

It does not matter if they are lean or not, that's not how it works. This is a top down headcount cutting exercise, each group is assigned a target number to cut, and they will have to cut. Nobody is being asked to build a business case to defend the headcount, it's a mandate, something like 'I need to you to cut 20%' and that's pretty much it. There is no negotiations, otherwise it'd be super messy as everyone would want to build a business case for keeping their headcount.
