Who did they tell? They didn't tell me nothing. No HR, no manager, no supervisor, no lead told me anything. Well I guess they got me again. Damn.

They did that not paying differential thing in march of last year and didn't tell anyone.. Huntsville employees caught that and complained. HR told them it was a banking error " company that cuts the checks" and for the employees to figure out how much was owed them and they would get reimbursed. Why is that the employees responsibility? To me that was on them and they should have done the work to get them reimbursed. Bet half the employees didn't even know and never got reimbursed.

I believe that Weatherford will continue to do exactly what they are doing. Poor managment, changing policy in mid stream without employee knowledge ( not paying night differential on holidays, vacation and sick, not paying lead pay for these days either), not giving raises to those that deserve it, promoting safety in the work place just for the books( not actually doing anything), retaliating against anyone who has filled a complaint with human resources of any kind, and letting managers hire friends that know nothing about the oil industry. They will continue doing what they are doing and getting away with it because they have their employees scared to death to speak out for fear of termination and/or being sued.

I do visit this site at work using Weatherford network but I will never post or comment from there, with me accessing my bank account and personal emails using work computer I will be worried more about identity theft than being fired for accessing a site they can block very easily from the network.

The whole time I was working for Weatherford I realized that if I was a vendor I wouldn't even sell to them due to their ridiculous policy of making people wait so long to pay them. As the original post says don't use your company computer to come on here it is quite easy for them to see who has visited this site on the Weatherford network.

To anonymous 79059 Get out from under that rock you been living under. WEATHERFORD is in financial trouble unless you are in upper management you too will be affected. I do hope that oil goes up so all these good employees that Weatherford lost can find a job with another company that actually cares about there employees.and for the employees that are left if you have stock in the company take your money and run

Baker, Halliburton, Schlumberger, GE Oil & Gas all have money. They can pay their bills, get credit, and don't have vendor waiting 120 days or longer. They haven't been fined hundreds of millions of dollars like WFT. You may want to rethink your comment.

I think this site will continue to get a lot of visitors and people who comment from all Oil companies. I started visiting in December, we would have one or two messages a day and maybe a dozen views. Over last few months this space grew into a community of oil man and we are discussing many topics here, not only layoffs. I think people will continue to post as this is truly an employee forum for Weatherford, Baker, HAL, etc.

Baker, Slg and Halliburton...all in the same mess..laying off across the board. I doubt Weatherford is going broke. I'm guessing this down turn in the oil field and their layoffs are in regards to the price of a barrel of oil. I'm pretty sure they will survive this one just as they did the last big one in the '89's and they will do that by closing shops and laying off employees...just as the other Big Three are doing. All the small supply companies are cutting employees, wages and hrs. Supply boats to offshore rigs are docked and the crews left on the ones running have been scaled back. It's gonna be a tough year for everybody and everything related to the oilfield!
