Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Brian "The Butcher". Strategy or just habit?

Less than seven months on the job and already on track to eliminate over 20,000 jobs. Impressive. He's already breaking his old records. I wonder if the $1.3 million base salary makes it all worth it?

Sorry but she created a very disjointed TTS. A bunch of silos that can't work together properly.

That's what you do as a leader. You take ownership of mistakes and blame since you also take more than your fair share of credit for any success. So yes, Beth is responsible for the data breach. Live with it!

Did you jerks even know Beth Jacobs? I did. I worked with her for several years and yeah, she might not have had a tech background but the people she had under her did. To blame her for breach is bull.

You do realize that HQ is there to support the actual stores & not the other way around, right?

The most frightening thing is that the BOARD has approved and sanctioned all of this. They are responsible for approving all of the executive decisions and are still sucking their millions of $$$ for completely failing the company.

Brian the Butcher has a horrid management style. I do not feel comfortable mentioning what company it was, but I worked for a company many years ago that had a CEO exactly like Brian take over. Just as in this case, the CEO chopped heads like crazy. It turned out that those that got cut in the first round or two were the lucky ones. The CEO lead by fear and intimidation, and just continued to cut. He had zero ideas of how to bring the company back to life - only how to chop heads. Many thousands of lives are going to be impacted by Brian the Butcher, while he goes away in a couple of years with millions of dollars in bonuses - leaving us with a company that is complete broken and in worse shape. Although VERY painful, this could actually be a blessing for those that are let go in the early stages. Those that get cut in rounds later this year and next year will find the job market is saturated with former Target team-members, as well as the fact that Target will not have nearly as good of a name as far as background and experience. For those that get kicked to the curb this week, it is likely a blessing. I will likely be very painful for a while, but MUCH better long term!

Beth Jacobs a Finance person that didn't belong in IT. She created many of the messes in TTS and deserves a lot of the credit for the breach.

When you can't inovate you eliminate.

We are just a small blurb on his resume. Same thing as Beth Jacob, she had the Mervyns and Fields acquisitions on her resume and getting India to take over the call centers. That is how she got her lovely position, by tweaking her resume to say she saved big $$$. At the end of the day she failed Target, Brian is proving to be the same.

This is the track for leaders who have no ability to innovate.
