Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

I have heard that they cancelled a BHI Experience for new FEs in Canada, so they probably aren't hiring anymore. The ones that are just starting were probably offered the job half a year ago before the downturn and red/blue debacle. The company gets tax breaks for hiring new grads so that could be the reason why. As an FE myself, I am quite scared about whats to come. Your views about "spitting on the hard work" is far fetched because we do everything the Operators do and that includes sweeping the floors and other labor work... which I doubt will help me get a job as an Engineer.

BHI experience will soon be replaced with Halliburton one. Minimizing the cost is the utmost motto at the moment. All money spent on Baker Hughes brand will be cut. After all the company has agreed to adopt Halliburton brand after the merger. Get ready for HAL Experience.
