SO what is the average wait time to get the severance pay? I know people that have waited a month now.

My severance plus unused vacation time was a total of $12K with about $4K of taxes deducted. Took over 3.5 weeks for them to pay me. Still haven't received my COBRA application and i've been laid off for a month now.....not going to hold my breath!
how much money can you expect from two weeks severance pay. is it almost the same as your two weeks regular paycheck.
and is it direct deposit to your account.
Don't hold your breathe on the Cobra papers it took over 1 month for mine to arrive-well after my insurance ended with WFT. You do not want to accept their payment of COBRA anyways even if they have offered to pay your portion during your severance period. If you sign up for COBRA you have to keep it until you find another job you lose the option of buying insurance in the government marketplace the second you accept it. Meaning, if Weatherford offered to pay your COBRA for 6 weeks during the severance period you cannot go out and buy a different policy after that 6 weeks is up-you are stuck with COBRA and the $400+ per month that it costs. If you choose to have no insurance you will pay a fine at tax time that will be in the thousands of dollars. Thank president Obama and his horrible healthcare plan.
And when has WFT ever followed the law or abide in any rules?
If your laid off I think by law they have to have you paid within 6 days of termination date.
I received the last pay check and vacation pay, which was direct deposited, the papers we signed stated they would be mailed. Haven't seen or heard anything about the severance pay and haven't received the application for Cobra insurance yet either. But they are still using JDE.
I have been unemployed 18 days now, hope i wasn't misinformed about the insurance.
Took about 2 weeks for mine they took out a ridiculous amount of taxes-way too much, they took about $3K worth of taxes from of a $7K severance check so I suspect some of that will be coming back to me on next years tax return.
Still waiting. Longer than what they said it would be but they promise it is coming.
I waited 3 weeks for mine and they paid me 7 weeks of severance. Don't expect much because they also deduct tax, medical insurance, and sh*tload of other fees out of my vacation! I had over 4 weeks of vacation too. I talked to some other people who had less severance and was paid earlier. Good luck calling the assholes in HR for a clear explanation too!
