I have been layed off recently and it was really hurt and shock to believe it as I never been to this situation before for almost 30 years !. I'm trying to move on, think positive and getting another job, but not easy though!.

Well, I got hit last July after 40 years. I came to SLB through a merger of Smith International over four years ago. What a miserable four years!!! I hated every minute working amongst all those brain washed "blue or die" employees. More attention focused on Quest than the clients. Go figure! Being fired was a blessing as from the very first day I knew I was laying on the wrong beach. I used to grit my teeth every morning I walked into the office and felt bad about representing "blue" in the face of clients I had dealt with so many years. Judging from your comment "trying to live without Schlumberger" it is easy to see that you are blue from head to toe.
