Thread regarding Follett layoffs

If you have had opportunity to leave and you're still there you're complicit

Dear former colleagues,

I enjoyed working with you. Most of my colleagues have quit or they have been laid off. Some of you remain. To those few, if you had an opportunity to leave and you decided to remain, you're complicit. You have passively agreed with management that they have done their best for the company. You have passively agreed that the way I was treated, they way they've laid off and cut back hundreds of your colleagues was OK. You have voted with your feet and because you didn't walk out, even though you had other options, your actions say all of Follett's actions were alright by you. It's a cost of doing business. I thought you were better than that. Shame.

I get that one can't move on without other work. Ths topic wasn't directed at people facing those pressures. I know thre are many who could have taken other work, but they elected to stay. They are complicit.

like Anonymous104597 there was no skipping off. Don't think I didn't notice that A.) my head's on the chopping block every day and B.) It's like saying you have zero work experience when applying elsewhere thanks to the 'sterling' reputation Follett now has. Enough to make one take up drinking.

To anyoumous104565: You sound like you fit right in with the arrogant, egotisical management style that Follett so proudly has these days. My guess is you have never taken out the trash, dusted or vaccumed. You think you are superior to everyone. You critize and chastize every employee in your store or division. You are better off today because no one will question the idiotic desicions that you make or give the look of what the hell are you doing now. You make me want to vomit. Carry on with your over sized ego and self righteous attitude. Used to be Follet was a team no matter what division you worked. Today it is who can screw who first . Save yourself 104565, I am sorry I forgot you walk on water....get a life a&&hole

I wish it were that easy. Family, responsibilities prevent me from moving without a confirmed opportunity. I will leave when I find that opportunity. In the mean time it is business as usual. Do enough work to not get shit canned.

I miss all of the former employees that I worked with, Follett does not understand the quality of their previous employees.

Well said! But gutless is gutless and they must bear the consequences day after day. They are blind if they do not think their job is on the line also.
