Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Most unethical company and management

As a manager, I have been on calls where, the Sales/VP would get on a call with Engineering leadership and ask "Will you put your job on the line if you fail ?". Your own VP/Director would be silent on the call. If you failed, your own VP would throw you under the bus. Never seen an environment where they talk Agile but operate waterfall. Never seen an environment, where the VP will have 1x1s in public space where everyone can hear and the VP is insulting you publicly.

Recently managers have been forced to put employees on PIP just to layoff. There have been no prior conversations with the employee on their poor performance and hence employees are blindsided. Decision is already made to eliminate the employee. The PIP is a way to decide how much severance. The PIP reason is some failed project which is solely not due to that employee.

Senior Management is unethical, no skin in the game, part of the members only club and puts their employees in position to fail. This is the worst company in the world. There are a lot of good opportunities elsewhere. I will be moving out soon.

If you have an employee on PIP, you can fire them for not being able to do their job satisfactorily and can have a reason to fire them Usually PIP is used to prevent them from getting VCP, and making them unhirable after letting them go.

you must for greg gilchrist ...he's the worst of the bunch. Not one of his direct reports can stand him. They make it clear when he leaves the room and talk about him to us worker-bees. They are constantly rolling their eyes when he speaks on the phone. To his face tho they will tell him anything they think he wants to hear lol.

They don't have to give a severence so I wouldn't assume they will always offer one.

So how does the PIP affect severance? I know of someone in this process right now, no prior bad reviews, just all of a sudden a PIP. Not even any failed projects, the reasons in the PIP are just made up bullshit. Does anyone know for a fact how it affect severance?

I know of so many people who are resigning because they're tired of the inequities and management's lack of ability to manage. Management can't reign in the remote centers and therefore cannot effectively manage their group as a whole.
