Jerry Kennelly and Dave Peranich - an eternal love story

Pilot Chesley Sullenberger landed an Airbus A320 on New York 's Hudson river. Amazing feat. Saved hundreds of lives. The guy being the great man that he is donates to charity. Jerry got all keyed up, took him to dinner and auctioned off his jacket against a "large cheque" for Sullenberger's favourite charity. Jerry has long connection to airline industry. His wife was a Scandinavian stewardess who offered him a drink on a flight which triggered off a love story of 50 years. Jerry bought the jacket and draped it all over Dave Peranich's back on stage at SKO 2013. The two guys went all gooey and were in tears. Could not keep their hands off each other on stage. Jerry loves charity and Dave was his best friend. Dr. Steve McCanne, the founder CTO of Riverbed, the architect who actually made it happen, left the company the same week. Resigned from board of directors. Sold all his stocks. Did not send a good-bye email to his beloved company mates. Jerry's email said Steve went away to pursue his "philanthropic dreams". Steve founded JUT and all the people with energy, ambition, visions followed him from RVBD. Dave Peranich and Jerry Kennelly kept going up on stage doing the Mutt and Jeff act. Jerry was the benevolent grandfather, the Good Cop, Dave the tough guy, who ski's and bicycles faster than Armstrong, the bad cop. Elliott came, Jerry boasted even more, Dave thumped his chest louder than King Kong. Thoma Bravo knocked. Both whimpered and send hundreds if not thousands of Opnet and Riverbed core employees to the sacrificial alter but did not forget to give themselves millions of dollars in stock options. Pilot Chesley Sullenberger saves lives, gives to charity, does not ditch his flight to save his own life at the cost of his passengers. You were our pilot Jerry and Dave the copilot. Why did you sell us down the river? We sacrificed family time, vacation time for Riverbed. I am glad I left months before this fateful week. I am so sad for my ex-colleagues. They have family. And they got shafted.
