Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Anadarko is not great place to work anymore

I got laid off yesterday, as well as several others I know. I found a better position with Exxon, better benefits package, when the cloud was on the horizon. Today's my last day, and I start work on Monday. Shame that there is no dedication to employees anymore, then they wonder why there is no more employee dedication. This WAS a great company to work for once, not anymore sadly

It's been great since you left.

It's very sad that Anadarko is not the company it used to be. And yes, it seems most layoffs in the last year are discrimination. But being in an at will work state, it makes it hard to do anything. They can use any reason they want and get away with it.

Washed up relic. What once made it a great company is now gone.

Not always due to performance. I've seen pure discrimination with terms in the last year that I never saw before here at APC. Speaks to the quality of HR and legal at APC now. The quality in those departments are GONE.

Really? somebody got laid off? let me tell you, having been on the side of the table that does the decision making for who goes and who stays. The ones who go are let go due to performance issues. Not everyone is actually as valuable as you all think at Anadarko. Youve had too many years of stroking and coddling. It's time to put some hard work in and create some value for your shareholders, not coast and do your powerpoints, go to the gym, dine at the company cafeteria, get your dry cleaning done at work, visit the company doctor for sniffles, take your 8 weeks vacation per year, take your training in Spain and South Africa. The oil industry has been spoiled the past 10 years and Anadarko is at the top of the privileged list. Time to get real and earn your $100k+ starting salaries.

OMG. Dumbass. It was an obvious repost of MY original post and I didn't say it was yesterday 4/28. So yes I was laid off at apc - as in the original question here was asked.
