I am one of the affected students of Heald's closing and I am completely upset with the options available in regard to transferring to other schools. I chose Heald because I didn't see those other schools as real options for me. The majority of them are vultures! They are nationally accredited schools who do not have the same type of facilities, teachers, staff. I met one of the CS staff of this other school and I know that Heald had better service. I don't know why this is happening? I am about to give up on my dream of education because the options are not strong. Does the government even check out the other schools and compare them? Heald is a good school. It is the school I chose. It is the school I want.

OP - Heald did a lot to help you and a lot to hurt you. You were close to graduating with what and for what?
Look at all of your options closely, and make sure you benefit the most financially.
I.agree with 595..absolutely!
Any students out there, if you close to graduating then find a school that can help you finish. If you're not close to graduating please seek loan forgiveness. It stinks that you wasted all that time, but in the long run, you'll be much better off without all the debt. Be careful out there, other for profits are salivating at the thought of more students.
Only one sided point of view...Tell the student don't enroll in advance or give them the chance to finish,It's considered 9/11 for Heald due to governmental issue.,
Harris was one of nearly two dozen regulatory authorities that investigated Corinthian.
"Corinthian became the subject of an investigation by the California state attorney general in 2007. Since 2010, it’s fielded requests and subpoenas from 20 states attorneys general. It's also been subject to inquiries by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Justice Department, the Securities and Exchange Commission and accrediting agencies." In the end, it was the Dept. of Ed, not the California Attorney General, that imposed the final fine and the order not to enroll students at Heald. You guys who insist it's about Harris are in denial of the facts that have been uncovered repeatedly. http://www.theguardian.com/education/2014/jul/28/corinthian-colleges-for-profit-education-debt-investigation

Who is responsible to save Heald college from being smashed by CCI ( parent companyof heald) and the general attorney of education???????? It seems that it is a political issue since Kamala has been planning to run for the senator position .Government don't care about neither students' career or instructors' job
or MIT
Government has done far worse to its people than any of these schools. Just sayin'
Try Stanford or Cal Tech.
595 What money? You meant tax payers' money. It is what it is and Kamala I meant the fat lady has sung so move on! Considered yourself lucky, unlike those former grads that have suffered emotionallyand financially through this shenanigans.
I am so upset. The other schools are coming in as if they are here to save our education and help us transfer. And like the OP, they are like vultures. Please, they just want our money. Heald was a much better college than these other ones that they are calling options. Hell, even the facilities are nicer at Heald. I don't know much about whatever government issues, I just know that I liked Heald, the instructors and staff.

Yep, it was all Kamala's fault.
Heald has a great history in helping people over more than 150 years, but the destructive power of Kamala Harris to close heald is more. Relax kamala and sleep after kicking 16000 students out with query future and killed the jobs for 2000 instructors. Good luck with your next dirty work.
Knowledge of WASC accreditation? "disservice"? Sorry, I call BS.
I agree with you 500. The other transfer schools are not as good as heald. I went there expecting to speak with my teachers, but they were not there. I wanted to speak with my admission advisor and she was not there. I really don't think they thought of how a disservice this was to us students. The least they can do is have the same wasc accredited school with the same quality of personal service that Heald gave, instead I feel that I'm getting a lower quality education with the options. I even liked the financial aid office at Heald too!!!
I am really upset and discouraged. They should have saved heald ..Concord Heald!
