If the student drop from school, the school needs to follow the department of education process called return of title 4. The student needs to follow the program to graduate on time and to only borrow the cost estimated for that program. A student will owe more if they fail (attendance, not passing or other issues) and need to extend the time to attend school which will add to the cost. The student also will borrow more loans if they keep on dropping from school and renters to borrow additional loans. The student will also owe more if after being advised to return excess loans to the lender to lower thei amount they borrow but decides to keep the money for themselves. Department of education have guidelines on borrowing student loans and schools have to abide by it before loans can be disbursed.
People tend to focus on the bad and blindly blame someone without getting the facts when things go wrong but we need to remember that there are more facts in a story than just conclusion. Do not blame the staff who only works to earn a living and have families to support. Students and staff are the victims but who cares about our group when greed and politics are the reason for the downfall of Heald.
Please do not accuse all the staff of wrongdoing as there are more of us who care for our students to succeed. Do not let the bad apple ruin the rest of the fruits. Good luck to all students and staff who are the victims of the greed and politics.
