Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Avoid The Bastard Courier

Do not entertain the thought of working for the courier guys! You are only working for the truck you are paying for, i.e. maintenance, fuel etc etc. You will have to have 15-25 mile route per day, deliver 200-250 cartons per day to see profit, trust me it's not worth killing yourself for the company that put you out of work to begin with. The courier recruiters make it sound somewhat appealing but again please trust me. DO NOT be tricked into becoming an independent contractor. Don't even speak to their management. They have proven to be cocky, ignorant, back stabbing bastards that have taken conversations completely out of context and Staples associates severance/retention were placed in jeopardy. Word to the wise. I wise everyone the very, very best and remember Change is a Great!

Why would I want to bother having to pay all the expenses of owning my own truck and delivering for Staples (fuel, truck maintenance, hand cart, vehicle insurance, vehicle inspection) via a courier, only to have to deliver 200+ cartons a day AND pay for my own health insurance on top of it? Sounds like I'd be laying out more money out of my own pocket to work harder and maybe make a little more money, but not enough of a difference to compensate for all of the time I'd have to put in outside of deliveries to fill out all of the paperwork, incorporate myself as an llc, find an accountant, etc. Not to mention having to pay someone else to drive the route if I ever want to take a day off. Nah. F*** that.

This is all for the benefit of Ron's compensation. Who the 3rd party contractors hire to drive was not a Staples concern. There have been a ton of complaints about late deliveries, but they just do not care. Obama ripped Sargent in public, so I doubt it is in collusion. Not a fan of Obama either, but outsourcing delivery and killing off retail is purely to line Sargent's pockets.

This is horrendous Getting rid of the people that help build Staples to what it is, only to hire illegal immigrants or un documented people in this country so they don't have to pay Americans. This is a attack of the middle class workers of America to take care of all the illegals in this country for a few bucks more for the corporate executives. The company that Staples is hiring to deliver there goods only hire Illegals or undocumented. I know a few of the Staples delivery people that will be layed off this week. What a shame I will think twice before I buy anything from Staples again. Thanks Obama!! Can't wait until your gone!! Staples probably made a secret deal to help the illegals.
