15 schools is just that start. Wait until the students start realizing what's happening to them. Not only will there be a mass exodus from the closing schools, it will create a domino effect through social medial. Couldn't happen to a nicer company. I never thought I would see that day I could dance on their grave, looks like it's going to be sooner then later. THANK YOU KARMA!!!!

Broken heated - Wow you drunk the koolaid alright. You even ended your statement with their tagline AKA sales pitch to the inside "provide help for students who have limited options". Not blaming you, I worked there as well putting my hart into it just like you but when many of us questioned management about the low bar for new students I was very skeptical of that line. Not everyone needs to go to college, and even if you disagree with me, why is the creative field the dumping ground? Everyone has heard the phrase "starving artist" what part of taking people who have less then normal skills would make you think they could thrive in an even more competitive field then the general population? I feel your pain, I think many of us who were not recruiters but actual instructors were at odds with management. They did silence most of the outspoken voices either by simple no re-hire, one sided biased performance reviews or elimination of available classes to make it appear like it was out of their control. All very manipulative and underhanded and definitely not the straight shooters they proclaimed to be. I had no idea when I was there why recruiters like my presentation so much. I though I was just doing a good job helping the school on my day off. If I would have known all those people were making thousands of dollars off each student who signed up it would have been a totally different story. Ironically, the school used to refer to those events as "community service". LOL What a joke, community service is when you lift a homeless guy out of the gutter and give him free food and shelter, NOT help billion dollar corporations and recruiter like their pockets with buckets of cash. So I guess I drank the same Koolaid in some respect.
I worked for EDMC for many years and I put my heart and soul into the job. My students were like my own children to me. I was so "drunk" from drinking their "koolaid" that I honestly thought that they were being accused of terrible crimes and that the company would be exonerated when they had their day in court. When the waters got rough, after the Gainful Employment laws were made clear, they found the fastest way to get rid of everyone who may have been smart enough to see what was REALLY going on. A ridiculous, unbelievable PIP and a new regional corporate person later, they found a fast way to get rid of everyone who had any sense of morals or ethics. Either take the generous (well, sort of generous, I guess) severance package or go through a humiliating and painful Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), and wind up losing your job, your life's work, anyway. I had to accept the severance package, as I could not afford to be without a job. I saw the dirty, underhanded, unethical writing on the wall. It literally broke my heart. Saying goodbye to my students was a nightmare. It was like losing a child ( or children!). I don't wish harm to anyone who is still working there, even the unethical ones, but I guess this posting is for anyone who may have tried to walk the straight and narrow road. Find new employment, and start looking now. If you are still working there and you think that you are "safe", think again. The writing is on the wall. I was an honest employee who put their heart and soul into helping students who really needed someone to show them a way to improve their lives. I helped all the students I possibly could, using ethical means, and I still wound up broken hearted and unemployed. If this reaches even one EDMC employee, my mission has been successful. Stay on top of the news regarding for profit education companies and go to work for a company who will appreciate an honest, ethical employee whose only mission is to provide help for students who have limited options.
Not a troll, just telling it like it is. Sometimes the truth hurts but its the big elephant in the room right now. EDMC is going down, Art Institute is going down, Argosy an all the others are going down. In fact it should not be a surprise, its been going on now for years. Layoffs, layoffs, layoffs, lawsuits, stock plummeting down to pennies, teach outs, schools closing and yet you really thinks its all just trimming the fat. WOW, what are you smoking? Really I want some of that.
Go back to bed troll.
The government need to make them shutdown ALL of their schools immediately they have done nothing but lied and mislead everyone that has come into contact with them. I know what I'm talking about first hand I wish they would call me to testify.
It's not going to be pretty, when you drain a sewer, there are things there no one wants to see. By by Fart institute.
They are all going down soon! Trust me! There are things cooking that EDMC is unaware of but it's going to be a huge blow to them and there is nothing they can do about it. Trust me! I don't work for them so I speak the truth.
How many people were let go on Wednesday??
Swamp. Perfect word choice.
This is very interesting. EDMC once said they wanted to be very careful of lawsuits and used another chain school that went down as their example. A former student complained they didn't learn Photoshop like they were promised. He or she won in court, the bad press drove away students and the whole thing collapsed like a deck of cards. Ironically, EDMC's solution was to never promise anything. In other words, a Photoshop coarse will now be called Digital Manipulation. Ironically, their demise was at their own hands drawing the biggest lawsuit in history. You know what they say...history repeats itself.
