Cash in the bank, new job secured, COPC apparel donated to the homeless and 3 Spirit Awards with 16 other recognition awards crushed and mailed to Ryan "Flounder" Lance as a parting gift. Good luck with the slide...miss Mulva yet?

The options for severance are basic and basic & supplemental. The payment is a lump sum. The layoff process varies based on country so noting the country is helpful. Yes I received the severance, both basic and supplemental, in one lump sum received via direct deposit in the noted 7 days (business days).

No you do not need to sign to receive the basic severance. As stated in the paperwork, you have 60 days to sign the "do not sue" form. No receipt of the signed form within the 60 days and the basic severance is processed. Receipt of the signed form within the 60 days and the basic and supplemental severance is processed. Yes good advice to discuss the paperwork prior to a signature (good advice for any paperwork prior to a signature). Issues of discrimination such as age are EEOC issues and better suited to the processes described via the US Labor Department EEOC web site.

Take the money and run before ConocoPhillips runs out of money. End of 4th quarter 2014 5 billion in the bank. End of 1st quarter 2015 2.5 billion in the bank. Yes ConocoPhillips is the epitome of the good ol' boys network. The previous HP VP fought the good ol' boys network and lost... The layoffs were biased and based on who you know and not what you know. Excessive number of older workers and minorities involved in the layoffs.

No. The HRBPs lied when they defined the process. You have to sign the General Liability Relese to get any severance money. Additionally, COP will not commit to a date for payment following the 7 day after receipt waiting period. Make sure you talk to an attorney and Mail everything Registeted Certified to make sure that you get the severance money that is being extorted for your signature!
