Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Cops are back in Houma!

We had a Sheriff's Office detail at the facility though the Feb/March layoffs and saw one here this morning walking with the GM... Here we go!

Hate to burst that perfect little bubble you seem to be in, but, I would say that 85% of the people left at the Huntsville facility are worthless. In the past couple of years Huntsville has cost Weatherford a substantial amount of money due to incompetence. They have issues with trace packets, never ending scrap piles, inconsistent turn around times (late lines) and a lot of wrong shipments. Most, not all, but most of the employees that remain are not held accountable for the never ending errors. They sweep them under the carpet and cover a lot of this up by working the paperwork and numbers. So if you feel so darn lucky to still have a job and that you may be getting good employees transferred to Houma from Huntsville, I will give Houma just a short time before Houma is in the same predicament as Huntsville. Keep dreaming those unicorn and rainbow dreams, because I see nightmares for you in the future. If Huntsville has anything to do with the future of Houma.

Wow what !! Of course I am happy happy, I still have my job and I figure on keeping. Hopefully Huntsville will have more lay offs saving the jobs here at Houma. Keep the good and out with the bad I say. Tra La La whistle while you work.

Whatever so 35, 53 jobs were canned yesterday. Just small fry and not such a big deal in the bigger picture overall. Still 43000 persons left with a job. I'm happy happy to survive yesterday.

Well this last post seems credible.

There is only one facility left in Houma (is in Shriever actually) and is Houma Manufacturing (Gemoco as a lot of people know it), every other facility was shut down. And yes 53 workers were layed off yesterday (5-12).

Anonymous101142 you are a troll and I suspect you will attempt to discredit any stated truth. To those layed off yesterday good luck.

What is the point of continously stating the layoff in Houma was a lie? You probably don't even work for the company. People need to know the truth.

Not sure what is really believable regarding this post. Perhaps somebody from management would like to confirm or refute the lay offs, because the posts are now really becoming very confusing and unfortunately slightly aggressive in tone.

Would the person who posted this thread pass along the street name of the Houma facility that got hit? I am guessing Houma has more than one Weatherford facility.

I work at Houma, and like the previous posts, it is all complete hogwash. Telling people to shut up when they tell the truth is not on. People were not terminated.

Excuse me, but I am dead serious. I work down the hill at the thread line and didn't know of any lay offs today. I haven't heard of any either. And everyone knows that we are treated like we are not part of the rest of you guys. So yeah its not a joking matter and don't tell me to shut up.

I work at Huntsville and I'm not aware of anyone who was let go today? What department? It is bad if you work at the same place and are not even aware of anyone being let go. It's either a fib or it was more little people I don't know. Weird.

Yall are all f***ing wrong .I work at the houma facility and I heard 53 but I think only 35 were laid off today including 2 supervisors and I think its bullshit the way they done it.. it caught every one off guard cause they dont tell no one anything about what's going on..everyone is stressed out and tired of not knowing if they have a job every time we go to work everyday....good luck to the ones that got let go and I hope things get better ....

101066 your a fing idiot. This board is to keep employees up to date on events occurring at the company they are working for and the people like you have to state ignorant misinformation. Okay, maybe prod supervisors could be an inaccurate title, but the truth of the matter is two dedicated employees lost their jobs and the work they did contributed to keeping that location afloat. Unless you know the truth keep your fing mouth shut.

No prod supervisors have been layed off. Nobody should believe the last post. A complete fantasy of a warped mind.

The first 2 walked out were prod supervisors. Think they each had close to 40 yrs service each. I think they were the last 2 prod supervisors on site. Very tough times
