Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

Standing Dead

L-3 is that it has settled into a full coma. It's alive yet unresponsive. The corporate management feeds on the corpse like giant sucking parasites, steadily extracting the life blood of the organization The organization was strong enough for the first few years to survive the assault of Mike and his underling parasitic crew but for years now has been steadily weakened to the point of collapse. L-3 is over people. It's a hopeless dying carcas. It's sick, stinking and rotting. Their business strategy is no more sophisticated than a tape worms. Working at L-3 sucks people souls out of them. The demonstrated values of Corporate leadership is greed. Pure and simply. The only "vision" for the company is for the fat asses at corp to get as much as they can before the whole thing collapses. Everybody knows it. The firm is headed for a cliff. Meanwhile the "fat boys" prop up the stock price by buying back shares as the company revenues shrink. But the can't play that game forever, eventually it will implode. They are making themselves wealthy at the expense of employees and their disappointed customers. And they could care less, because it's working to serve themselves just fine. The only real move now since the place is so screwed up is to sell the company either as a whole or in parts. It's time to make that happen.

How sad is it to go to work every day wondering if this will be your last day at work.

Aw c'mon, the company's not in as bad shape as all that. Still has hundreds of million$ of contracts to live off at least for a while. The challenge is learning to adapt to a world where the Big Primes we used to feed off as a subcontractor throw fewer pieces of business our way, as they seek to keep more work in-house. This means jobs must be executed more quickly for less money and with the job done right the first time-- you know, kinda like commercial companies. THAT is going to be hard for many of our divisions to pull off.

You rock! You rock! Your post is great: "...settled into full coma. It's alive yet unresponsive." L-3 as Sunny Von Bulow!! I wish I had thought of that! Darn it! I am not smart enough or educated enough or big bidness savvy enough to know if this is true for the L-3, as a whole. But, I am aware of what I am witnessing in my corner of what used to be Paradise (to be fair, it may not have been Paradise years ago, but there were a lot more pineapples than cocoNUTS hanging around). I do, however, "know my own a$$ from a hole in the ground," so from I so daintily sit: Corporate greed is ruling our world, as it is many others. We do appear to be run by a bunch of fat a$$e$ - hey, less double dipping at the laid off employee's salary salad bar and more time on the treadmill, dudes! Fat necks hanging over starched collars, not attractive.

I want a bumper sticker that says, "L-3's business strategy is no more sophisticated that a tape worm's" Again, I wish I had thought of that!!!

Again, I don't nuthin' bout nuthin', business wise. My primary concern is that I care about the employees who show up wherever it is they are supposed to show up every day. I want them to be not just well served, but honestly, full served.

Imagery is powerful! Thank you for expressing your opinion in a way that resonates.
