Question for Camden Kid

CK, do you think EDMC will fall by the wayside like CCI?

EDMC is not done. They are restructuring and while that may sound like a bad thing it's actually a good thing for the overall long term health of the company. And, no, I'm not some higher-up that is drinking the kool-aid. I'm a realist who understands that the big picture will be a smaller company that is operating many, many fewer campuses. For-profits got drunk in the early 2000s on the riches that come from a major recession. That drunkenness comes with a nasty hangover, which is what we are going through now. this doesn't make it any easier on those who are losing their jobs. Hell, mine is sketchy right now too but I do recognize that after this restructuring the company, as an entity, will be on sounder footing.

Just my two cents.

@Board Hijacker, I think there is some value in a few of the Ai campuses and possibly in the Argosy law school. EDMC is done though.

I'm not CK, but yes, I think EDMC is done. They have made no efforts to improve the problems, and their schools have been exposed as over priced diploma mills. They are on the same path as CCI as enrollment continues to decline and closing schools without a clear cut strategy (tuition reduction, academic improvement) only elongates the pain. They are done. When your good schools include Brown Mackie College, there is an issue.
