You already know that ten senators signed a letter addressed to the Office of the Attorney General, the Secretary of Labor, and the Secretary of Homeland Security requesting an investigation into the H-1B visa abuses. Initially, the Department of Labor declined to act, but the Disney outsource/off-shore drew so much criticism the Department of Labor reconsidered.
All old news: but a good place to start some grassroots activity. The senators signing this letter are: Senators Dick Durban (D-IL), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), David Vitter (R-LA), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Jim Inhofe (R-OK).
I’ve sent emails to the first five and will send to the other five this week. (Blumenthal’s website will not accept out-of-state emails, so he’ll get a hardcopy snail mail letter.) I used http://www.senate.gov/ to connect to the senators’ individual websites.
Also, I happened upon the website petition2congress.com. They have a page for automatically sending messages to the president and our Congressman and Senators requesting the H-1B visa program be abolished. I checked out the website on woorank, WOT, easycounter, and scamadvisor – it got a clean review and likely can be trusted. Go to http://www.petition2congress.com/7637/abolish-h1b-visa-program.
