I'd say it is a toss up. Both seem to be struggling right now. I know part of it is the general economy but leadership must also play a role. Any thoughts/

Both are really bad. I would say moral is better at DNOW. The leadership is terrible at NOV since all the NOI people were booted out by Varco-nites. Workman being fired was a great move for DNOW.
NOV is more screwed up than DNOW. Funny thing is, NOV kept saying they had to disconnect from DNOW permanently because of DNOW's incompetence. Whose the incompetent now? Lol Here's some advice for NOV.... Stop promoting incompetent non degreed assholes into management positions just cause they're your relatives or friends!! What goes around comes all the way back around.
I agree. NOV is struggling more than DNOW. I don't think they realized what distribution added to the business. It may have had lower margins but distribution did add some stability and offered a nice place for customers to interact face to face with NOV.
NOV is more screwed up than DNOW. Back in 2008 It was the distribution side that helped keep Other segments afloat. Its cheaper to repair than to replace which insures a revenue stream for DNOW. Yes DNOW will have its hard ship but not to the extent that NOV will face. DNOW is staff base and not as contract reliant so most of the ranting that you may see on the NOV side is primarily from contractors if fear of loosing their job.
