We see managers have failed the team due to their inability to manage and lead the team. If engineers can see how bad their managers are at their job, why management cannot see that? Getting rid of folks who actually get work done is not going to take Qualcomm to any better place in future.
There are very few managers who are good leaders, rest are all junk, all talk and no work. And these bad managers are favoring equally bad folks to work under them. Bad managers hire bad engineers and ruin the work culture for rest of the team.
It would be great if Qualcomm could start review cycles for managers and get reviews from engineers who work under these managers. This would be a great learning experience for the managers. If you cannot get work done through motivation and good leadership, leave the job and make space for others who could get the work done, without making life miserable for the team members.
It makes me sick to see how incompetency and no leadership skills, still can get one promoted at Qualcomm :( Good folks are leaving Qualcomm and all junk is stuck to Qualcomm like bad cholesterol only to cause heartache and eventually death!
