Texas was hit hard in the '80s. So hard, that Dallas and areas of Houston lost real estate value that didn't come back until 2005.
Greenspoint was a young professional area with new restaurants, apartments and condos. That turned to public housing in the early '90s.
I have and this is a completely different company than it was 10 years ago. Chevron couldn't run a high school drill team let alone a drill ship. We have lost all ability to drill a well let alone build a major capital project. You really can't compare this place with years back. It is truly an awful place. Also there is no way Chevron recovers from the these awful decisions. It will be a decade or more before we hit the black. Even with high oil prices you can not cover for the extreme incompetence.
