Even if you don't expect to be laid off, long term prospects at starting to look questionable. I've starting updating my resume.

SD does not have lots of high tech company like Q unless you start looking into biotech.
I got the ax in Feb and spent the 1st half of the year at the outplacement center (along with plenty of others from Qcom, MS/Nokia and elsewhere. EVERYBODY was having a very tough time finding new work, and traveling all over the country in the process.
If I were you, I would not wait. Consider the effect of flooding this already-lousy job market with all your current coworkers.
I actually found one but I sort of had to. I was actually already let go. Well it sounds like GTFO'd a little early. I feel sorry for the final group of GTFOers. The job market is going to be saturated in San Diego. . I went on like five. I went on like five interviews the first four are not interested. Maybe more. Some of the jobs were as Far north of Glendale. Luckily I found one in San Diego.
