Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

HR really needs to investigate the validity of recent spring 2015 VP promotions

Not dure if anybody noticed but there has been a relatively larger number of promotion to VP level in the last review period. I have not seen that many in any of the previous review cycles so far. 50% of these have been alleged and highlighted in this forum to be somewhat "shady". Some seems like a result of "favors", of all kinds, between friends in the upper management. Some promoted regardless of the huge failure(s) of the team being lead by the promoted guy. Are these promotions for real? Do we really want these kind of "leaders" leading Qualcomm?

There can't be that many VPs around, com'on! That would mean 1 VP for every 40+ employees. That must be the Dir. title count, right?

Look with only 750 VP's at qualcomm, they are relatively short-handed and obviously they need some more of these VPs to spend all the cash that QCT and QTL is making. It's a very difficult job to spend tax on a fruitless project and make your senior VP think that the wasted cash was worthwhile. Somebody has to do it ...

yeah the 810 lead got promoted to VP... "led the most challenging project to date in QCT" ... guess effort is good enough, who cares about winning
