Thread regarding Follett layoffs

New POS?

It has been many months since the last new POS update. I have heard that millions of dollars has been spent and it is only in a dozen stores running parallel with the old one. My store works very hard to provide profit to the home office to invest and it is irritating to see the waste that occurs. Is anyone accountable for this fiasco? Maybe we can use the Neebo POS?

They had a working POS in beta at the stores, SS nixed it because he thought with support from CNS. Well millions of dollars and thousand of lives over five years later. They've got nada, They had to toss the one they outsourced it trash can.

The person responsible is your good friend Sanjeev. You have only listed a few of the reasons that ORPOS wouldn't work for Follett. Trust me, there are dozens of reasons. So now they will spend months looking for another solution, waste more millions.

So it took a multi million investment in ORPOS to determine "Our bloated systems requirements for a new POS are too much for any out of the box solution that would be acceptable to upper management."? Who is accountable for the waste of money?

Most stores that were running the beta tests have been told to stop using it. It didn't have compatible functionality for campus cards, AR, or rental. You don't actually want PRSIM POS either, it's not much better than WinDSS. Our bloated systems requirements for a new POS are too much for any out of the box solution that would be acceptable to upper management.
