I'm about 20 minutes from the office. How are things looking there on the ground? A lot of cars in the circle drive in front of 1500 and on the side of 1400 waiting to take people home?

The negotiated rate is NOT cheaper than a taxi for the "limo service". Stop trying to justify poor HR decision making. It was classless and distateful to layoff for cost saving but line up expensive cars outside of the building to whisk people away.
Poop
There are no jobs to get rehired folks. The ROM is going to take place in October. This is just a tiny fraction of the pain that is coming.
Yes but you might have to pay some of it back depending on how soon you got re-hired.
Would you still get severance if you applied to and got another Chevron job?
They told me I could work through 4:00 tomorrow if I wanted. I was like nah that's ok I'm going home. Also, after the 60 days I can apply to jobs if I wish to come back. That's laughable.
1500 Louisiana Street.. my husband just got his layoff papers around 10:00 today.. said there's security people everywhere
No champagne or kool-aid. Only a bottle of water. I asked to stop at Specs but Chevron didn't pay for any additional stops.
Chevron doesn't serve champagne, only Kool-Aid.
They are town cars or equivalent. It's the "limo service" we use for airport transportation, etc. The negotiated rate is cheaper than a taxi.
Limo? I should have taken a bus this morning instead of driving in... Champagne included?
Sending teeminated employees home via a limo service. Talk about a huge F U to those being let go...as the driver for this RAE is cost cuts!!!
Surprisingly, our HRBP for MCBU/Ownership only has 5 appointments shown today. I thought there would be more. I get to wait this out until 10:30 then go over to 1500 with my supervisor.
It took all of 7 minutes to De-Chevronize me from MCBU. I'll stay on the payroll for 60 days THEN get my severance.
A lot of people in the 1500 lobby. SBUX packed and, as per usual, I'm logged in so Lync is green (actually red) while I enjoy my coffee and surf the Internet for an hour or so during my re-occurring morning "touchpoints" appointment in my outlook calendar. I'll peak downstairs around 9 to see what's happening.
You (the OP) must have arrived at the office now. Tell us what you saw, Jerk.
With the amount of people who ride busses and van pools, there will be a lot of car services today.
I see three black cars on 1400...
