What do we know about this?

The HES lead on kitimat thought crafts were like arts and crafts.....she really did ask that question! "Oh do the do crafts on there off hours?".
What a complete, unmitigated disaster LNG entry has been for us.
-
ALNG- still offline
-
Gorgon- hugely over budget, every year brings another year delay so we're always about a year from finishing.
-
Wheatstone- hugely over budget and now possibly cancelled
-
Kitimat- costs began to grow as soon as we bought in. Apache was smart enough to bail. Project recycled.
F*** us
The decision will likely depend on the extent of the supplement (another $5B and 6 months or another $20B and 2 years). You don't shut down a project of that size over $5B but you might over $20B+...especially if that's only the P50 number.
Wheatstone closing down operations indefinitely is not a confirmed thing, only speculation. It's speculated if spot gas prices remain low for a projected time, Wheatstone could be shutdown once Gorgon comes online. This may be done because of cash flow problems. Once the project is seen to be commercially viable, it would be completed. Although this is pure speculation, it is very possible. Chevron executives would of course disavow even considering this, even though it's all on the table.
