Hey so what you think will happen when population continue to drop below 8,000 to an all time low below 7,000 students. I am not a mathmaticiam but i believe 6,500 students equal mass layoff.
266, don't care what you think either. I moved on to a very good job. With your ranting you sound like you need some anger management. I was just stating my feelings about Zenith and the whining employees that feel everyone but themselves are to blame.
202 - sounds like you need some anger management sessions!! Oh, that's right you don't have insurance any more. In reality, most smart folks didn't wait to be layed off in April. We were looking for jobs back in June, 2014. We knew CCI was going to shit then. Don't blame your anger on those folks that thought you were worthless. You are to blame for you own feelings of worthlessness. Get over yourself!!!!!!!!!
Personally I really don't care. I was part of the big one in April and could not care less what happens to Zenith Education or any of it's schools and employees. Most of you were so happy you still had a job back in April and didn't really care about us. You all sat around and and talked about the ones that were let go and complained about others that were not let go. See how you feel about it when you sign up for unemployment and try to figure out how you're going to pay for health coverage for your family. We warned you back then that no one was safe and more were going to lose their jobs, but you kept complaining and wishing that so and so would be fired or so and so is worthless. Well, now you get to find out what it's like when you're told you are no longer wanted. Just remember that those who are still employed will be talking about you now and saying how you were no good and deserved to be left go.
If the PL position is being eliminated, it might trigger WARN. How many PLs are there?
California has there own version of the WARN Act that protects California employees. Zenith does business, has employees from California, and has availed themselves to these laws. Pay up!

The WARN Act is Federal law. The company being in California or not is immaterial.
Only if the company is based in California, which it is not.
The key words is "employee". If the adjunct professors are contractors the WARN Act does not apply.
This should trigger the WARN Act especially if your an employee in California. I smell a lawsuit against Zenith if not fully complied with.
The WARN act is only activated if the RIF is more than 1000 employees. Dave Hawn is too smart to want to pay the 60 days of severance. He will stretch this out RIFs long enough so that he won't have to pay a dime more of severance than he has to.

Well yea, today was the day. I had been looking for jobs for weeks nothing so far. Will I make it through the "new riff" I am a single woman alone in the world, you will say, oh you have family and friends well honestly I have not speak on the phone and I rarely had too with this job, I have no one to call and no one to call me until this morning.
Many of you may make fun of this but after this job has just been ripped out from under me, I gotta tell ya I am not going to make. I understand Zenith had to do what they had to do, but fellow instructors I can make it through.
I am glad I will have you all at the funeral, or maybe you will be here in time to hear the shot thats blows my well educated brains that have taught Zenith and for other shools for 15 years.

Should these layoffs trigger the WARN act?
All Pl's and full time faculty are gone…school is shutting down!
Confirmed. Was told the PL position is being eliminated. Last day is 7/10.
