As a sophomore petroleum engineering student wondering about future job opportunities, how are strict are criminal background checks for field engineers at Baker? I have an arrest record and a dismissed class A misdemeanor, no conviction, for a fight. Wondering if it's worth the $2k for me to get it expunged.

BHI will be gone shortly,so no they will not hire you clean or otherwise.
The top level management engage in criminal activity all the time. But, expect the employees to be squeaky clean
But they will hire you if your'e not!
Yep, Baker won't hire you if your'e clean.
By all means pay the $2000 and get it expunged. No one will hire you with a criminal background. They will not even let you give your side of what happened. As soon as the background comes back with the criminal history, HR immediately sends out the adverse letter. This is not only for Baker, but most all companies out there are the same. I wish you luck, I know $2000 sounds like a lot right now while you're a student, but it will save a lot of heart ache later on.
Ochh ye askin me?
Someone has anger issues.
Accurate though.
Yes, as long as you're ok with giving your manager grotesque amounts of helmet, you're good to go. Also being a crook and a flat out worthless drunk like your mum with excellent 'bro' skills is a plus. Baker Hughes is strictly about the good ol boy network of semi homosexual white hillbilly rednecks who like to engage in circle jerks while away on pointless business trips. Be sure to include that you like to get butfucked by men in your resume/cv and that you're a beer pong champion and that you are interested in doing the ironman.
Based on empirical data, a criminal background is a prerequisite for employment at Baker Hughes.
