Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron has to give a 90 day notice before layoffs (WARN ACT)

So under the WARN act Chevron has to give a 90 day warning before they lay off 100 employees or more. I called this week and did confirm AMBU filed there WARN act in November of 2014. So they will have to pay at least to October. Looks like November. If that does push it back they will most likely send people home and pay them the 90 days. They did this at AMBU with the guise of the PDC and everyone knew no one would get placed. Now this place is so f***ed up someone may have forgot. It was an engineer that brought it to the BU's attention in Pittsburgh. Not HER or a corporate edict. So who knows with this hell hole.

In 2016 Chevron filed the WARN notice when they notified employees so everyone got 90 days of salary and insurance (April -> June 2016). In addition they continued insurance for another 6 months until December 2016 at the regular employee premium instead of the 3x higher COBRA.

Rustled jimmies. They filed the WARN act for the ROM you dipshit. People did get placed in the PDC, the atlas sludge at the bottom of the barrel got thrown out when they poured the goo into a fresh container.

Starbucks is always hiring.

Chevron will file as they will lay more than 500 people off. I would expect it to be filed in August. And who uses the word doofus in 2015? Using the word doofus=long term chevron jackass.

Houston layoffs will apply. It's 33% or over 500. The poster also posted Pennsylvania's requirements and Texas only goes by the Federal law of 60 days. But it will apply.Mass Layoff: A covered employer must give notice if there is to be a mass layoff which does not result from a plant closing, but which will result in an employment loss at the employment site during any 30-day period for 500 or more employees, or for 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33% of the employer's active workforce. Again, this does not count employees who have worked less than 6 months in the last 12 months or employees who work an average of less than 20 hours a week for that employer.

Actually as long as a plant or office with more than 100 isnt being closed and less than 1/3 of the workforce isnt being let go, no WARN Act reporting is required. Thats why the business opt studies, proj Alpha, & the CNAEP " resource assessment exercise" cuts will total less than 30%. Chevron wants to stay away from negative headlines. So I wouldnt count on ant extra months of pay excepting whatever the invol. severance package looks like.
