Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Organizational changes

I have been curious to see what product lines will be divested or absorbed due to the "merger" and have been uncertain about Drilling Fluids due to Halliburton's Baroid line. I thought surely drilling fluids would be sold eventually but it seems that the north american VP for drilling fluids has taken a new position on the Global integration team. What could this mean for the future of drilling fluids and it's employees? Let the speculation begin.

Which company has the better fluids? speculation is one thing, but if things (integration) is done according to "best-wins" then which company commands the real market share? customers should have a very good insight into this aspect.

All it means is that manager has a guaranteed job at Halliburton.

What about Honeywell? Aren't they looking to buy some of the chemical lines?
