Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Should I be concerned or worried about layoffs in San Jose? (Atheros)

I haven't bothered looking for a job or even thinking about getting laid off myself. But, should I be concerned or worried about layoffs in San Jose (Atheros)?

I hope there aren't any layoffs in San Jose.

if you are in sr. eng. then better jump out. Qcom is not having any marketable tech in near term. Stock may even fall below $45, in year. There will be layoff.

Being in San Jose, you should have less worry about finding a new job than those in SD.

Layoffs in December happened throughout the whole company, don't see your point here

No. Employees in San Jose are top performers. The ones in San Diego are the bottom 1%. You're safe.

Even if there are no layoffs in SJ this time, it may not mean that there won't be later in the year. You still might want to polish up your resume and start looking. At least now, the job market is fairly decent compared to what it was last year.

QCA is one of the least profitable division. Of course, there will be layoffs in San Jose.
