Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Wow.. I was looking at a typical MBA curriculum... http://www.hbs.edu/mba/academic-experience/curriculum/Pages/required-curriculum.aspx

There is enough material on managing changing markets and deteriorating organizational culture. Look at the typical objectives ...."Managing the performance of individual subordinates", "A firm's operative environment and how to sustain competitive advantage and the list goes on"

Shouldn't C level folks know how to manage this? As an engineer, if there are major loopholes in my research and design, I would face the wrath of everyone above my and be eventually kicked out. Somehow it doesn't add up.. where is the accountability?

From this it is very clear that they are not interested in managing the company or looking after its health. They're are very competent.......at making sure they milk the golden cow before killing her. This world is not always a logical place. You don't always need to have the best education or qualifications to make money. It's also a lot about being in the right place at the right time.
