I haven't been this happy since I first started with Follett, close to 15 years ago. People are saying things about "the transition". Wake up. "The transition" ended years ago, it is over. The problem with Follett is NOT a "transition". I had a job lined up prior to leaving, and I am so happy. I laugh at work and enjoy my days on the new job. I am productive again, which I wasn't when I was still at the store. The days dragged on. I get home from work and don't want to hide and be angry and annoyed because my day was bad. Follett is a cult. It is manipulative and they treat their employees terribly. Leaving that company saved my health, my sanity, and my personal relationships. "The good ol' days" of Follett were over when Tom Christopher left. Maybe a bit before - because I honestly believe he would never let any of what happened happen. Mass layoffs? You know - it does happen, and sometimes its necessary, but the way in which it was done is what hurt people the most. Once you leave, you will also realize it's not just a new life, it's a cleansing.. With many friends left, I do find it humorous to check this site from time to time. Might be my last visit. I barely recognize any of the names anymore.

Bravo!
As long as you hold the position, you have something they want. They want your salary. When they replace you (if they replace you), they'll be paying less. Document everything. Stay issue focused. Do you job well. Eventually they'll have to terminate you and buy your silence. Then be very happy you're gone. On the other hand, you know they're coming for you. Organize a good job search now.
Home office? "Fire me" was my attitude as well. Boy, am I glad it all played out in my favor.
Can't believe I was given such options today.. Leave or find another job.. No merit.. Manager has a personal problem with me and my years of dedication have no bearing to the ladder climbing scrub.. Told them I'm not going any where.. FIRE ME!! This management is a tornado of bullshit liars out to line their own pockets.. We bust out asses to make them look good and collect bonuses.
You are right, so unfortunately, you play dirty with them and collect on that ass in the process. I got mine after termination...you better get yours! Got terminated, had a side business, collected unemployment, then got another job shortly afterward with the help of people from Follett. Don't mistake everyone there as bad people, that is simply not the case.
Anonymous140298 well said! I've been tryin' to get down to the Heart of the Matter. But I think it's about forgiveness
Yes most companies out there, not this one, care about their employees. Their policies show it. Like company and personal growth programs. And no most companies don't personally sabotage or humiliate people to avoid paying severance or unemployment by unethical firing or hoping that they push people to the brink to leave. No most companies do not that.
Yes
Just answer me this those who moved on; do you feel like what you do makes a difference? Like they actually care that what you do matters?
I mean...I was reading this and thought I had written it! I've been gone about a month and man...what a breath of fresh air...
Man, you sound a lot like every Neebo employee around 6-7 years ago...and you see what become of them
