@nps hero--you are fighting a losing battle. This for-profit high school will survive, but only as an online school, and they will serve fewer than fewer than 100K students by the end of 2018. UOP will automate so much most of you will be working elsewhere. I like your "brakes" when working with students, but Enrollment, from executives through managers don't give a damn. It's all about numbers of new students. The shell game will continue until this place is forced to shutter...and if the FTC finds anything damning, all bets are off concerning UOP's survival.

Don't judge on the pseudonym - I couldn't think of anything that was interesting or catchy!

@ Anonymous144102 - Thank you for the statement! As an AC, I work with new and reentry students. When I note that someone is near agg limits - I alert the ER and the FA and put the breaks on starting a student until he/she is fully aware of the repercussions and options to move forward. I do NOT care if my starts or retention hurts; I do care if someone is screwing themselves financially. Also, with reentry, if they can't tell me what's changed and how they are going to be successful, I request a letter of intent before I allow them to start. Yep, I said "allow."

I truly feel that if Tim can get us back to a smaller institution with higher enrollment standards, we will start to see the Pell runners or school jumpers go elsewhere. I think that Bill ran us into the ground and overextended us during his reign. Getting back to a quality, ethical organization is the first step in the right direction - a long time coming.

I also agree - these courses are not always tiddlywinks and such --- some of these courses are HARSH!

Finally, it is terrible that any educational pauper can write messages on this board and some don't even work here; they just want to poke the hornet's nest.

On a positive note, happy new vacation time people! Something to be thankful for!

You know why Americans have so much out in Student loans? Because the government allows it. Why do they allow people to keep abusing the education systems. School don't want this, but can't discriminate against people. Do you know how many times I have turned in people I felt were trying to take advantage of what they think is free money? Why do you want to go to school, I don't know. Then why are you calling? People know the government system and there is nothing schools can do. The government knows this is a problem. How about this as a solution. If you go to school and skip out on your first semester, you should have to pay back all the financial aid you took out being irresponsible, before you can have more? This would stop people for going to schools to get excess funds. I don't know about every person that works there, but I do know that I educate my student to borrow smart. I want to ask all of you did you actually suffer through a cc? Guess what they don't spend a lick of time with students explaining financial. Not one of my past schools did. In fact I received all 3 of my degreed outside of UOP. I think UOP offers a ton more resources, then my Midwest uppity cc. Can't speak for what happened before I came to work here. All I know is I try to work with the people that want to better themselves. Honestly I have taken classes at UOP and they are not a diploma mill, and you would know thist if you had a diverse backround in education. Do I drink the kool-aid, absolutely not. I do everything ethical and still have great enrollments, because I love the students I work with. Go get a day job and quit worry about UOP.

Ck - you really think that it's necessary to correct your grammatical errors?? Lol. Must be forgetting that you're in a non-credible site. Anything goes. Truth or lies. All opinions, not facts.

@Anonymous140949, I wonder if they teach values to the Ivy League scammers at Apollo Group. It certianly doesn't seem like it.

@CK, You just described reality over most of the world. Of course we laugh at the yahoos who aren't qualified to attend college. 95% of for-profit students have no business attending college. Even your hero, Robert Reich, has said as much. These scam schools should be closed to save the taxpayer from the undiscerning morons who think they need an " edumacation." UOP and its fellow scamsters are not universities, but vocational schools, and they aren't even doing a very good job at training these working-class dopes for their futures at Walmart and Goodwill.

University of Phoenix promotes classism as well as racism. They pit recruiters and retention specialists who perceive of themselves as "middle class" against people they consider lower on the social scale. When "middle class" workers distance themselves from those they prey upon, they don't have to face their bad deeds.

To previous contributor. CK may have a point. Do you know how to write a complete sentence and use punctuation? I really hope you are an outsider not working for UOP.

@CK the school is corrupt but there is no systemic racism most if the employees just hate working with ignorant blacks that's the only problem but it's not management creating this people don't like Pell runners and dumb students who shouldn't be in any college I m a Phoenix and it makes me mad when stupid students come to our school you don't know nothing CK.

CK it would be far better to get some damning evidence from the Department of Education instead. I would rather get dirt from them and their complete lack of regulation or protection of the worst offenders and their casual attitude towards 41 million Americans trapped against economy destroying debt.

@Jungle Chuck, I've patiently been waiting for the day that some form of "Grandma Millie" tape comes out to the public about Apollo Group and University of Phoenix. Teachers and lead generators have sent me emails which had damning information, but it hasn't been enough to get the public's attention.........................................https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/selling-schools-from-pitch-cloe-dahn-shaulis?trk=mp-author-card.........................................................................https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/apollo-group-sinking-ship-dahn-shaulis?trk=mp-author-card.........................................................For those who are unfamiliar, the tapes were related to Enron's abuse of the system, and their exploitation of the end consumers of energy. This was not one slip up by some energy traders, it was the reflection of a corrupt attitude that prevailed..............................................................................http://www.cbsnews.com/news/enron-traders-caught-on-tape/
