Watching ETC it was clearly bloating but I didn't see all this coming. Looks like I got out at a good time. Yikes.

As a BU ES, my experience has been that ETC has some wizards and true stars that really fully embrace the business need. In a BU setting these folks would be fully functional with supervisors & managers that werent threatened by their skills and understood how to leverage talent. Other ETC types belong in academia where deadlines dont exist. Will never forget the time an ETC bloke informed us we couldnt have a good reservoir because the model said so. (After we made a discovery and completed flow test.) Sadly the current downsizing is pushing some of the most useful and functional SMEs out the door and we are left with the least experienced and least useful behind.
