Yes, the industry has always been a Rollercoaster ride, but this down is being managed far worse than previous downs. You have to blame management. Absolutely no communication and almost blind regard for morale. It's like they just quit when the merger was announced. HR is more smug than usual. I expect to be laid off every day and don't even care anymore. Some days I feel like not even showing up. Just quit without even telling anyone.

How about that idiot Scott M in Leduc. Somehow after all these years he can just keep belittling employees...anyone who make a complaint with HR and the employee gets fired. For some reason HR protects this arse, must have pictures.
I work in an office that has just stopped caring. I stopped going into work 3 weeks ago and literally not one person has called to ask where I am. I start a new job Monday and plan to just not show for work until they figure it out. Double pay til then!

That's why Schlumberger made a very BIG cut then announce that there'll be no more layoff for the whole quarter. It is worse when Baker/Halliburton management made small cut each time and every week employees expect another round of layoff. Not good for morale.
