Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

17 years of a family feeling gone on the blink of an eye.

Its all about me from now on! I wasted a long time concerned about the companys well being.

Some of the most curious people during all this has been the team members who havent been laid off (yet). I would bet that they are the most likely to be researching the internet looking for info. Hopefully they find this site and share. I urge all current employees to be just as underminding as the leadership has been to you and your brothers and sisters. G. Jones is a puppet.

They never cared about us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rYPp4ofXAs This is an interview with John Mackey arguing against the minimum wage. From about a month ago.

You ask why this has to be about attacking someone and then you attack them...

Why does this have to be about attacking people? Because this is a big deal and team members who have worked hard for years to support a company who they felt had their backs are naturally hurt and upset to realize that conscious capitalism is nothing but a lie; nothing but a book that stores were forced to sell to make money for John Mackey. When people are upset they have the tendency to make their attacks personal, because for them it is. Good to know you are so philosophical about it though.

Anonymous163097 - people are angry because they were blindsided. They're letting go people who, however foolish it seems now, have dedicated their careers to Whole Foods. This was done with no warning. People don't want to compete for one job against people they're friends with. If the team members were told that business was bad and that layoffs were coming in the next few weeks, it would have been better received. Instead they wait until everyone does inventory until 4am and then call them back in for an emergency meeting and told they're not needed. They decimated the marketing departments because they claimed they don't make money (but who takes the holiday orders?), and they let go ASTLs who were with the company for 20 years and kept the newest ones. It's evil how they handled it and it's not what WFM was supposed to stand for. We thought this company was different and we were show how foolish we were for trusting and believing them.

Why does this have to be about attacking people? You work for a publicly traded company. Take some deep breathes and speak like an adult.

Are you jobless right now? No, you have to reapply for a position. Will you get it? Does your work warrant you getting it? I am in a good spot with my work. If I don't get the job, maybe it leads me to something even better. I do know that by working for a publicly traded company, things will change. I also realize at a privately held company, it can be even worse when the boss has a bad day.

I want you and all of us to do well but why attack people who are just doing their jobs like you?
