49 states are "At will" states, meaning you can be be let go for no reason, no severance, no nothing...just a pink slip. I would have been thrilled to have been laid off with a package as opposed to when I was let go with nothing when my company restructured. I am not a whole food employee, someone I know is, that is why my interest in this thread. It's terrible when this happens to anyone for any reason. Best of luck to all of you.
