Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Buyers and supervisors

Were all buyers and supervisors given the chop in the south? I'm in the Midwest and I'm hearing conflicting reports.

No, nobody has been forced to leave unless they were on a final written warning. Buyers have to re-apply for their jobs, as most stores had more buyers than what has been mandated as their new structure. Buyer apply and get their job back (reclassified) and keep pay, or don;t get it and have the option of becoming a TM with reduced pay supplemented by amount determinded by current rate and length of service for up to a year, or take the severance package and leave the company for 6 months. Severance is ok: 8 weeks plus 2 weeks for every year worked, plus full PTO payout, plus unemployment. Good deal for longtime TMs that have been buyers for years with no interest in becoming team leaders.

For the most part. Some stores are combining departments with each havinh 1 ATL. If the team is big enough maybe 1 supervisor as well.
