Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

I'm sorry y'all...

MW Region here. Haven't heard a thing yet, although there have been a lot of impromptu conference calls with Store Leadership this past week. Honestly, WFM is a company that is failing right now for many reasons. A big one is that there are way too many unnecessary positions that have been created. They need to do what a business in this situation should do and restructure. I feel for the people losing their positions, I really do. But, it needs to happen. It really does. Let's get back to the basics.

I visited NYC recently and one store I visit had a buyer for each grocery aisle, plus several buyers for dairy and the coolers. I was in shock at the amount they had and one TM that I struck up a conversation with told me that they're short staffed and asked if I wanted to work their. NO wonder they're trying to eliminate positions. With that amny buyers, the store should have looked amazing, instead it was dirty and lots of out of stock items.

You're right about that...but the unnecessary positions have pretty much all been created at the regional level. And THEY are not the ones losing their jobs.
