Anyone else hearing grumblings about expense reductions?

Payroll can be cut at the store level even with one store manager. I know of several stores that don't have a store manager, director or any professional management staff of any level (in a few cases). Management from larger area stores delegate pretty much everything except HR to part-time student staff.
I am a one FT manager store. I am essentially the bookstore. Every. single. time. I've DARED to take a day or two off, it's been meltdown city from everyone and how dare I go out and leave the store alone, I should have found someone! Imagine, hearing that I needed to cancel my time off because I had to be there for the store to be open.
Uhhh... how do you go lower on payroll when so many stores are down to one FT manager? I get it...we're going to shorten our business hours. Yeah, that's the answer.
I heard major payroll cuts...also a Kmart tactic.
The bluebook process is in a free fall. The ADC is imploding - just wait until the return cycle.
Pure textcellence.!
The ADC has books?
They have lots and lots of books. Just not the books your professors and students wanted for their classes. Winning!
The ADC has books?! Seems like everytime I ran a search there were no copies available.
When is the town hall meeting?
What the heck you going to do with that ADC stuffed to the rim with old inventory, inventory that is low in demand etc. The decisions of the current leadership will haunt the performance of the company for the next several quarters....once they are gone.
Next town hall likely to be Ray and Todd telling us DG and GT (at least) are gone. Everything about the 2 qtrs in the books are on their watch based on their poor policies. Too many quarters gone to keep selling the family on the poor numbers being related to the reorg. It is time to reorg and attempt to make amends with customers, administrations, vendors, and our own dedicated employees who've endure three years of egotistical, rather than educated, leadership.
"The numbers are worse than when DG, MLS, GT and all the other new leaders took over". Yo bro are you aware affects of changing directions takes awhile. Rewards of investments of the former leadership DG, MLS, GT were riding on the backs of the previous leaderships directions before them. Now the returns of their leadership (along with the main department that backed them, we know which department that is/was) are now results of the previous last few years decisions.
The numbers are worse than when DG, MLS, GT and all the other new leaders took over. Wait for the spin at the town hall.
Hopefully get rid off all the dead weight they hired in the last 2-3 years. Ya, I'm looking at you Sears, Kmart and Office Max. What a drain on resources.
How do the numbers look, sales and income for our bonus this year?
Along side the millions spent on the new cosmetics lineup? Makes sense, doesn't it?
I keep hearing reorg but not sure who and what departments are affected.
