Marketing Jobs In The Pacific North West Region

This site is awesome! It really helps to hear about everybody's experiences during these hard times. Aside from the TROLLS who think that marketing/signs/chalk were worthless positions, I'd have to say that it's been a blast learning about my passions and getting paid for it. I had a dream job that I learned a lot from. As an artist at Whole Foods, I was able to grow in what I love, support a family, make valuable connections, belong to a culture of talented and intelligent people....so yes....this is very sad...maybe it was too good to be true... I think that the Marketing Team could very well appear to be "pointless" or a "waste" of time and money...I strongly disagree. Taking that away is taking away the unique feel that differs Whole Foods from any other competitor. Marketing with chalkboards and customized signs use to be valued and recognized. Marketing T.L's who truly cared about their local area (like mine) would reach out to the public and make a difference. But the company gotta make those changes and we gotta cut that fat before its sold....It makes sense. It's normal biz. When you get hired at WFM, you're made to feel like your in a very special place, different from the rest. But not any more. Its the beginning of the end to a great place. Now I'm fighting for a job against a friend/coworker because all of the sudden our jobs became one . Last week, and years before, it was cool to have us both bust our ass in our positions. Macky's Conscious Capital crap was a book to make money on good sounding ideas that wont work in a capitalistic society.

all the marketing people I know, got huge ass severance packages so none of them are crying. I think this is the one area that "fat" could be cut off. Super small stores with two full time sign makers each capped out laminating stuff? Sorry, not being callous, they were all great nice people, seriously talented bounce but as one poster put- just doesn't compare to the job of say a PFDS TL

I think the sign makers, graphic designers were useful and that someone thinks the the product TLs will have time to make their own signs is laughable. Where some had issue was when Marketing Supervisors were made TLs, as a PFDS TL with 92 TMs and in a high volume store, over $150k/week in PFDS alone, to hear the MTL talk about writing her 'schedule' when I have Everclean walking in the door, just didn't sit well. Plus, the regional marketing team is HUGE. This whole thing sucks for everyone and I agree that some of the top brass is where we should trim.

I wish you and your co-worker the best of luck!! I hate to see the company do this to people, but I'm still glad that they we gave us the opportunity to make chalks for them.
