Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Pressure Pumping is the core product line of Halliburton

As many of you have criticized the pressure pumping business you will soon find out that is is Halliburtons core business and trophy product line. What you don't realize that BJ Sevices company was run very similar until Baker Highes wanted to run a service Company like a Walmart as it does its other product lines. Baker should of never bought BJ Services as it was a service company and did not Sell shit off a shelf that everyone needed. When you run a service company like it is a product you will loose customers as we did. BJ Services lost many customers when Baker took over because we no longer treated them as a "customer" and more of a margin and how much we could get out of them. Baker Highes had a great Opprotunity to be better then Halliburton but to many egos got in the way and the wrong people were put in place because of their degrees. There is something to be said to build relationships and knowing your product line rather the. Being worriers about your job title. I know many don't care are this is irreversible at this point. I wish you all luck in your future and those of you that truly did your best to make this company a success, thank you. I have had a great 14 years with the company but was glad to leave last week because I was more concerned with my health then to continue seeing my colegues being pushed out.

Remember Halliburton, Dowell and BJ Hughes? These companies specialized in pressure pumping.

Baker Sand Control............They "tried" to pump sand. What ever made anyone think they could manage a pressure pumping PL?

They hired an Indian CIO that tossed away 20 million+ on failed projects. All the Indians she hired to report to her wet their pants every time she looked at them, none had the balls to tell her she made bad decisions. Baker was full of idiots that wasted the companies resources. Most of them were well rewarded for it, while anyone that had a brain was kicked out. HAL has no idea what kind of mess they are buying.

If Schlumberger or Halliburton want any good management, they should look to those that have been laid off. Baker ran off all the good people!

Well said. Baker is very much like big government with individuals being put in charge of things they know absolutely nothing about ..and for no other reason than it fitting someone's career development plan. SLB will surely grind HAL/bhi into the dust when oil prices pick up again. Many of us are well out of it.
