Good move for Staples. Don't think it will fix morale. So many people are jumping ship, they may not have very many employees by then.

Write your congressperson and tell 'em that you want the "top dogs", ceos, etc. to have their million dollar salaries slashed so the "peons" can keep their jobs.

The legal department will be busy dealing with all the wrongful termination lawsuits. I know of about 15 that are filed by former managers in my district and neighboring ones.
And now HR wants to get involved by sending out talking points for ASAT....what a joke. Face it folks, the top dogs are pushing for a buy out of Depot only for their stock to raise then you will see people like Otis,Ron and Demos cash out and laugh all the way to the bank..They are no longer in it for the long haul.
DM's and RVPs have their heads so far up the SVP rear thinking that they are protecting their jobs...you guys will be gone too once they find people to do your job for less...didn't say better, just for less.
Then when it hits the fan with lawsuits for wrongful termination, etc,,,,the top dogs will just wipe their hands and blame the peons.
When I first read the headline "Staples to Close Thanksgiving" I thought it meant permanently! :-)
They don't give a f* about morale - Anonymous171366 said it - the cost of overhead was the reason.
They do not give a rat's ass about morale. They probably just decided it was not worth the overhead to open for a few hours on Thanksgiving.
The beatings will continue until morale improves, Ron gets his full bonus, and there is no one left to beat.
