So the specialist for my very small dept got the axe, leaving one full-time TM (me) and a few pt-ers. I was informed today that I will now be responsible for doing the order, beginning with the holiday orders, even though I have no experience or training, basically because I am the person who is scheduled when the order has to be placed.
Part of me is indignant and feels like wtf, shouldn't I get compensated for doing someone else's job (who got paid much more than I do?) on top of my own? But the smart part of me knows that the more I'm paid, the sooner I'll be laid off. But really I will probably be fired long before the second round of layoffs for screwing up the ordering. Wtf are those of us who are left behind supposed to do?
