S&T - I was left standing.. package 2 months - until Dec. 8th, then, severance package after 60 days of effective date. Interesting though.. S&T requested employee's to Rank their preference order of interest in the positions. The nomination form used had 1 - Self Nominated position and 3 - Manager Nominated potions, we were told to rank them in order of preference. So, If the sponsor gets a copy of the form showing you ranked his job # 4, and he calls your manager and during the discussion says "why did he rank me # 4" and manager gives him ohhh that's just an order.. but the Sponsor takes it offensively,, then, your left standing for a job because you didn't select his position as # 1. I think by forcing us to rank the positions, it was an unfair practice .. This happened, my manager told me of the discussion with the sponsor and giggled.. I don't find humor in being discriminated against by having to rank your preferences. My 2 cents .. let me hear yours ..

The news is now out in the press: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/chevron-extends-job-cuts-global-232636552.html
This last ROM seemed more brutal than the 2 that I went through when I was in Downstream. In the past, those who were "left standing" in Downstream, Midstream, S&T were able to try for positions in the (then prospering) Upstream groups. Now all the BUs, and service groups are cutting, and the ROMs are cut-throat exercises. Good luck to all.
...and some of us declined to drop everything and move to Houston. We did not get the benefit of a severance package. After 26 years (one colleague had 32), we leave with nothing.
I was left standing as well. I sort of expected that as my group had become a total rat race. Such hypocrites. I even overheard one manager telling the secretary not to feel bad about us, "it's just business"
Do you find the severance/termination paperwork confusing? I can't find the forms, phone numbers, names. It's like they do it on purpose.
You were a threat. That is theChevron Way.
Sorry you were left standing....I've been there.
It's like a sorority tanking during rush. Chevron needs to replace the HR office with professional contractor services.
