The store that I work at is moderately busy. They have reduced our labor. Team Members are exhausted. We are doing the best we can with what we have. Customers tell me all the time, the reason that I shop at Whole Foods is for the extra help and the great Team Member service. They can't get that any more so they are leaving.

All the team members are trying to be really nice to each other--we know everyone's short-staffed now, and can't pick up the phone or find a price, or help someone find something, or come to customer service desk to help a customer. Looking at the structure of other grocery stores and deciding to mirror their labor structure only works if we already have the same systems in place that they do--such as automatic buying, and better price management.--and customers that aren't accustomed to getting help.
I can agree with the exhausted part. Thanks to this my buying workload has doubled. I am working 6 ten hour days... This week . Who knows what for next week .. Everyone is on edge, angry , exhausted and suspicious. All this and holiday drop is in a week ... Brilliant execution whole foods. ... All I can say is "where is my severance package"
Well these customers may be kind but kindness does not pay bills .It means nothing to me . The bottom line is : people choose to suffer in such environment in the name of a culture that does not exist anymore .
