@933--please give us your first and surname, and the Ivy-League school where you earned a post-graduate degree so I can forward your comparison and the entire Ivy-League community can LAUGH and ridicule you in a public forum. No one believes for-profit schools are on par with Ivy-League schools, or any traditional schools. You are a deluded shill for a diploma mill--you and your investor cohorts are going to lose millions in the coming weeks and months. APOL is following ITT to penny-junk-stock status. Good riddance to UOP.

I have taken classes at UOP, PSU, GCU, MCC, and ASU. I found UOP classes to be the same, if not better than others and found that I retained more from UOP than any other school. Before anyone questions my education I do also have an "Ivy League" graduate degree and enjoy learning. I was not disappointed with the curriculum at The University of Phoenix and would not hesitate to hire a UOP graduate.

@768--PSU offers academic rigor, where UOP spoon feeds remedial pablum and push students ( many of whom are not deserving of a passing mark) on to the next course--it's a "pay-for-cash-and-carry diploma" at UOP and the credential is laughed at by legitimate employers. Big difference, scaliwag.

Umm...Penn St. has a higher tuition than UoP. Just Saying.....

@559--LMAO. UOP will have fewer than 100K students by the end of 2017. It's a SHIT product. Traditional schools are offering a legitimate education--all online ( e.g. Penn State)--at a fraction it costs at "giveaway credentials", UOP. This diploma is going to be entirely online in two years, and it will continue to serve first-generation college students, people, in most instances, better served in a vocational setting. UOP hasn't been and will never be a university. I've always said the Feds should make for-profits like UOP, DeVry, Kaplan, Ashford, etc. call themselves "vocational schools". They teach a remedial high school curriculum in ALL undergraduate programs anyway. UOP is a colossal joke and a drag on the American taxpayer. Basta Ya!

Oh for crying out loud! Articles talk a lot of shit without knowing the facts. Real facts will be coming shortly. UOP has a lot of good in them and they serve their market the way it should. All these other little posers/imposters just want to be us and hate that we were taking a big part of their market share. They'll soon come to realize how much more challenging the demographic of online students are and they'll see their numbers dip as well after they see that they can't meet their needs. They don't have the resources, the funding or the 30 + years of experience. Their battle has just begun and taking UOP out of the equation only means that you'll leave that market out to dry.

@445. With no due respect. You are a self-serving SOB. I will say it again: you don't have meaningful percentages of graduates and this number is allowed to be compiled over a six year period. You don't make money for investors. So what the hell do you do? What's your function Mr. flexibility?

Post ID: @ukP+DSMpuyQ

@445, are you delusional or just dumb? The evidence is all there. Numerous veterans and active duty have come forward with stories about being misled. PBS did a story about it not too long ago and numerous other media outlets have ran similar stories. Do you honestly believe that the DoD would take these actions just because? Obviously they had a compelling reason to do so.

Resume worksshops are held everywhere. These workshops are available to all students and non-students and almost all of Uop campus locations including online. So does that mean that they need to investigate those practices for wrongdoing?? Give me a break!! This is why it's hard for anyone to offer to lend a hand because things get twisted and turned into something it's not. I would think our military personnel would bring up the issue if they felt misled. I bet that the majority would disagree with the allegations and instead be thankful that someone takes the time to provide workshops in which empower their minds to start prospecting for the real world after their honorable discharge. Our sweet Government is not providing them much of these resources. Government just looks at our military as numbers. I know this because I know many recruiters. Maybe we should look into those practices and how misleading they are when they promise the world to these young future veterans. In fact, every year the government spends more time taking benefits away from our military like healthcare. How about we just add tuition assistance to that list!! You think that they'll have many other options to attend school? Many other schools do not offer the type of flexibility they need. For goodness sake, look at the bigger picture. There's a much bigger hidden agenda and they're really good at setting up distractions.

@351. You're right , Capelli old man! The altruism involved with "helping" vetetens with their resumes has not gone unnoticed.

Two words come to mind: cynical and callous. Choose your favorite or both.

C'mon seriously??! It's all going to be back in a matter of a short time. It's stupid for the DOD to think that by UOP helping military personnel with resume workshops that they were attempting to recruit. UOP does a bunch of community services and so do many other universities. Students and staff from those schools as well as UOP would pridefully wear their school gear but didn't mean that they were attempting to recruit. If someone were to ask about the institution or become curious them you give them the information they asked for or simply ask them to call in for more info. Simple as that. No gimmicks.

@317 they can spin it and try to mitigate it all they want, but if it wasn't significant they wouldn't have had to file an 8-k with the SEC.

Do some research and look at the SEC filing: http://investors.apollo.edu/phoenix.zhtml?c=79624&p=irol-SECText&TEXT=aHR0cDovL2FwaS50ZW5rd2l6YXJkLmNvbS9maWxpbmcueG1sP2lwYWdlPTEwNTIwMjIwJkRTRVE9MCZTRVE9MCZTUURFU0M9U0VDVElPTl9FTlRJUkUmc3Vic2lkPTU3

"In fiscal year 2015, receipts from the DoD Tuition Assistance Program represented less than 1.0% of University of Phoenix net revenue, and during the fourth quarter of the fiscal year approximately 4,000 students received tuition benefits under the program"

It's sad, because I feel that the University has made leaps and bounds to make sure we are doing what is right. My mom is an alumni 1995. She held V.P. positions all over the country for a handful of companies. I have my masters and not from UOP. Compared to the cc, alprivate schools for my bachelor's and masters. I will tell you, UOP has amazing resources that others schools don't offer. It's a shame many people.don't get these options in others schools.

@160, you're right. GI bill funding is not affected by this, only Tuition Assistance. It is still a huge deal that will have an immediate devastating impact on the company, and Durbin is pushing for GI bill funding to be taken away as well. This is the first domino to fall.

This joke school is done. UOP will be entirely online by end of next year. All campuses will be on a path to "teach out". Good riddance, you fraudulent f***s.
